The 9th International Congress on The Jurassic System will be held from 6th to 9th January 2014 in Jaipur, the capital city of the state of Rajasthan, India. The congress will focus on various topics related to marine and non-marine sediments and fossils of the Jurassic Period. The congress will also include geological visits to Kachchh and Jaisalmer basins, particularly to the outcrops of Bajocian, Bathonian, Callovian and Oxfordian sediments.
Schedule of the Congress also includes the following excursions -
1. Pre-congress Excursion: Middle and Upper Jurassic rocks of the Kachchh Basin (one week: 28.12.2013 – 04.01.2014)
2. Post-congress Excursion: Middle and Upper Jurassic rocks of the Jaisalmer Basin (one week: 10.01.2014 -15.01.2014)
3. Non-marine Jurassic rocks of the Gondwana Basins in the central and eastern part of India (one week)(tentative).
